If it weren't for a late-season knee injury, Alex Tanguay might have cracked the 90- or 100-point barrier. Even with the missed time, the left* winger was the team's most consistent player, finishing with 78 points (29 goals) in 71 games. Tanguay is an expert passer and has the poise and patience with the puck great players possess.
Rob Blake started slowly, but had a terrific second half and playoffs. He was the best player on both teams in the first round against Dallas.
Right winger Marek Svatos was well on his way to a 40- or possibly 50-goal season when a season-ending shoulder injury wiped out the last 21 games. He still finished with 32 goals.
A subpar playoff showing does not take away from the terrific, career season lan Laperriere had. The veteran scored a career-high 21 goals.
