Patrice Bergeron lead the Bruins in goals (31), points (73), power play goals (12), shots (310) and faceoff percentage (54.7). He did all that at 20, in just his second NHL season. He also helped wingers Marco Sturm and rookie Brad Boyes become bona fide first-liners.
In just 55 games after he was obtained in the Joe Thornton deal, Brad Stuart established himself as Boston's most complete defenseman by leading the blueline with 10 goals and the team with 25:50 in average ice time.
Boyes led the team with 43 assists and ranked second in points with 69 despite averaging only 11:09 of ice time through the first 26 games.
After defensive shadow P-J Axelsson went down with a knee injury in the first game following the Olympic break (at which point the Bruins were .500) Boston posted a 5-13-6 record.

On November 1st, 1924 the Boston Bruins made their debut as the first American team in the NHL defeating the Montreal Maroons at home 2-1. However, success would not be common for the first year Bruins as they lost their next 11 games on the way to finishing in last place with a 6-24 record.
