SS Julio Lugo will be surrounded by three new infielders - 2B Roberto Alomar (276 hits short of 3,000), 3B Alex Gonzalez (a converted shortstop) and 1B Travis Lee. Aubrey Huff is the left fielder until Rocco Baldelli returns from a knee injury, probably in June, with CF Carl Crawford and RF Danny Bautista. The catcher is Toby Hall and the DH Josh Phelps. The bullpen, with a 3.90 ERA, third best in the AL in 2004, returns virtually intact, with RHP Danys Baez the closer. |
