Mike Sherman has been replaced and Brett Farve has come back for one more year to help the packers get back into the game. Mike McCarthy has work with best quarterbacks including Favre, Matt Hasselbeck, Aaron Brooks, Jake Delhomme, Marc Bulger, Rich Gannon, Elvis Grbac and Joe Montana. He also train in the meaning west coast offense. He will be prefect fit fro Green Bay and once again be able to work with Farve for this season for the packers.

2006 Team Draft Notes: Coming off the first losing season of the Brett Favre era, there aren't too many spots on the depth chart where the Green Bay Packers couldn't use an upgrade. There's a certain luxury in that, because it leaves the Packers free to honor the draft-day cliché and truly select the "best player available," regardless of position. Most projections had the Packers drafting defense, taking linebacker A.J. Hawk. And they did just that by selecting Hawk with their first choice in the draft. In the second round, they added protection for Favre with Boise State offensive tackle Daryn Colledge at No. 47. In the third, the Packers got another linebacker in Iowa's Abdul Hodge and a center in Louisville's Jason Spitz.

Packers take him in the second round out of little Bethune-Cookman and turn him into a 16-game starter at free safety. He wasn't that great a tackier coming out, but he ends up as a darn good one and he hits. He had the size and speed, but was supposed to be a project. Nobody knows the Packers ranked No. 1 in pass defense. If this guy makes the usual improvement between his first and second year, watch out.
