PNC Park lies adjacent to the Fort Pitt Bridge (I-279) interchange with Pennsylvania 65. To reach the park from points north, take Interstate 279 south
to either exit 8B or exit 7A, Pennsylvania 28 south to the
East Ohio St. Exit, or Pennsylvania 65 south to the
North Shore ramp. |
| From points southwest, travel I-279 north to Exit 6B to the Blvd. of the Allies or Exit 6A to I-376 East, then take Exit 1C to Grant St. From Pennsylvania 51 and the Liberty Tunnel,
take Forbes St. and Ross St.; or Fifth Ave. and Wood St.; or 6th Ave. Use Interstate 376 west to Exits 2B, 1D, 1C, or 1B for downtown parking facilities when visiting PNC Park. The Roberto Clemente Bridge allows pedestrians to span the Allegheny River between downtown and the ball park. |

Notes:
Most of the everyday lineup returns intact, with the major exception of three-time All-Star C Jason Kendall, who was traded to Oakland and replaced by veteran Benito Santiago. OF Matt Lawton, who will play in right, came from Cleveland in a trade. LF Jason Bay, last year's NL rookie of the year, returns along with 3B Ty Wigginton, 1B Craig Wilson and the double-play combo of SS Jack Wilson and 2B Jose Castillo. The projected rotation lines up with LHP Oliver Perez, RHP Kip Wells, LHP Mark Redman and RHP Josh Fogg in the top four slots. The bullpen, led by RH closer Jose Mesa and setup men Salomon Torres and Mike Gonzalez, is one of the team's strong suits. |
