Rebuilding the Texans is no small chore. The team's questionable personnel decisions in the first four seasons will make Gary Kubiak's first campaign as head coach a tough one. Still, the Texans could push to finish third in the AFC South, especially with the Titans still in the midst of a rebuilding project of their own.

2006 Team Draft Notes: The Houston Texans set the 2006 NFL Draft on its ear by signing former North Carolina State defensive end Mario Williams one day before the draft was to begin. All signs were pointing to Heisman Trophy winner Reggie Bush as the No. 1 overall choice, but Williams was Houston's man, and it had a huge effect on the rest of the first round. The Texans got the draft started by officially selecting Williams with the top pick. In the second round, the Texans added Alabama linebacker DeMeco Ryans. They then followed it up in the third round with offensive linemen Charles Spencer and Eric Winston. A big name fell to the Texans on Day 2, as the team snatched up Virginia running back Wali Lundy in Round 6.

Between Andrel Johnson and Eric Moulds, they now have two of the most explosive downfield receivers in the game. Moulds is a guy who will make an immediate impact in Houston. Moulds can win one-on-one matchups. He's going to take a lot of pressure off Johnson and finally give them some balance in the pass game. Now, if they can just protect the quarterback.
