The improved talent base is evident, but there still are too many holes on the roster to think reasonably about a finish above the .500 mark. You have to remember that this team won only four games last year all vs. poor teams. There's a long way to go, and though Jeff Fisher and his staff are prepared to get the Titans back, the road is long and bumpy.

With picking Vince Young was excellent move but he is not ready to be the starter QB now losing McNair to Ravens.

2006 Team Draft Notes: The Tennessee Titans chose to go with Texans QB Vince Young with their No. 3 pick in the 2006 NFL Draft. The popular choice was to have Matt Leinart as the first QB taken, but the Titans feel Young will fit in their scheme and will ultimately take over the Quarter Back spot. In the second round, the Titans traded down and selected USC running back LenDale White at No. 45, which could be considered a steal. It was a busy second day with eight picks, and defense was on the team's mind. Three linebackers, two safeties and a defensive tackle were all taken.

Tennessee tight ends Erron Kinney, Ben Troupe, Bo Scaife and Gregg Guenther caught 149 passes in 2005. Only the 1984 San Diego Chargers (163) had more receptions by tight ends in one season.

You talk about a guy who can impact a game in rushing the passer. He's got a great motor and is great coming off the edge. Vanden Bosch is a player the entire defense feeds off. Tennessee was smart to re-sign this guy. He will give them everything he's got.
